UFG is looking for an Application Development Team Lead to join our growing Information Services team. The development team lead is responsible for performing a variety of technical and supervisory activities including the coordination and supervision of application development/maintenance projects, providing project and technical leadership, creating detailed system design documents, conducting design reviews and helping the PMO plan and run projects. The team lead is instrumental in evolving and implementing the software development methodology. The team lead also has significant responsibility in the growth and mentoring of developers and must possess strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and develop team members. Responsibilities Manage develop new applications, with an emphasis on large, high-impact projects Lead and supervise one IS Application Development Team Assign work to Application Developers Develop and maintain standards and procedures for the development team Participate in cross-functional project teams. Keep current in new technologies and technical aptitude Assists in the development of the division’s medium- and short-term plans to facilitate strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives and resource appropriation. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Four-year college degree in computer science, information technology, other related technical field or relevant experience and training Minimum 7 years of advanced development work experience Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many disciplines and with varying degrees of business and technical experience. Ability to be self-directed and to take initiative in defining and completing project deliverables. Strong leadership skills; ability to provide direction, motivation and feedback to employees; achieve project objectives through the work of others. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to describe complex, highly-technical issues using simple, clear and precise language. Excellent analytical skills; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. General management skills necessary for planning, organizing and prioritizing workloads.
