Storrs, Connecticut, The position will work as a member of the Marketing & Fan Engagement unit, responsible for assisting in all aspects of marketing and digital media for select teams, the department and for other areas as assigned.
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, think strategically and have a passion for ideation, innovation and creativity. Additionally, the selected individual will independently produce digital content necessary for social media, videoboard and digital marketing collateral, as well as work with select teams to develop marketing and promotional plans to enhance or increase attendance, program brand awareness, fan experience and revenue generation. The individual will possess highly effective communication and organization skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This position will require flexible and irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

•Develop and create content for social media, videoboard and digital marketing collateral
•Coordinate and work closely with department video producers, graphic designers, and communications/social media managers to develop a compelling, creative and strategic social media content plan including graphics, video and photos
•In consultation with the Director of Marketing and Digital Media, assists in the development of strategic marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports. Upon approval, executes those plans, which may incorporate grassroots, traditional marketing and digital marketing to maximize fan engagement and revenue generation
•Serve as show director for assigned sports by developing gameday run-of-show, scripts and coordinating videoboard elements based on templates and previous execution of events.
•Assist in coordinating and executing formal photo and video shoots for the purpose of fulfilling the digital content strategy
•Take photos of the team during photo shoots, practices and games
•Creative and innovative mentality with passion for brainstorming and ideation
•Recommend improvements to marketing and promotional activities for assigned sports and all sports, including gameday elements of contests, announcements, music, etc. with a goal of maximizing the fan experience for assigned sports and all sport programs.
•Work closely with Athletics’ Multi-Media Rights holder (Learfield IMG College) in the successful implementation of contracted events and promotional elements
•Be actively engaged in department research and data collection activities
•Collaborate with all marketing staff in the development of marketing and promotional efforts for all UConn sports
•willingness to work flexible and irregular hours

Minimum Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications; 2 years of sports marketing or digital sports communications experience; proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom; ability to produce digital content necessary for social media, videoboard and digital content; demonstrated knowledge of applicable NCAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications : minimum one-to-two years of sports marketing experience in an NCAA Division I FBS collegiate athletic department; experience with Pac Mail Cheetah Digital email marketing platform; experience with Click Effects; experience with Falcon; experience with SIDEARM; experience with WordPress and web design; direct marketing oversight of NCAA Division I sports of football or men’s basketball
Salary:   commensurate with experience.
