Job Description: Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms beyond that of a Programmer Required Qualification: 84 months implementing data governance processes including data management, data governance and programming 84 months writing SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers views and programs 84 months in data warehousing, dimensional design and modeling and ETL Architectures 84 months working with Microsoft SQL databases with experience of SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS 84 months working with Microsoft Suite with experience of Microsoft Suite including Excel, VBA, Power Pivot, Power Query, Power Bi 84 months building and implementing databases and data marts for operational, analytical and/or dashboard reporting using data 84 months in data modeling with conceptual, logical and physical data modeling experience. Provide a short description of the Position: The Division of Specialized Instruction and Student Support (DSISS) is seeking an Expert IT Specialist to be part of the MIS/Analytics Team. DSISS is engaged in a multi-year, system-wide reform of special education and is building the capacity to close the achievement gap and improve compliance with key special education indicators. Under the direction of the Director of Data, Reporting and Analytics, the Expert IT Specialist will support the development of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and guide the development of a Special Education data mart to support our reporting Infrastructure. The Expert IT Specialist will be directly involved in design and development efforts, including database governance, database management, development standards, and best practices. day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Duties and Responsibilities: Using complex systems analysis, identify database requirements by working collaboratively with reporting and analytics team to determine business requirements and lead the development of a database model to support compliance and management reporting Analyze and evaluate disparate DOE data systems by utilizing advance SQL design processes, such as STAR schema, indexing, and Erwin Diagramming. Develop and manage all database processes to continually improve data management practices. Create and administer database objects (tables, forms, queries/views, reports, and functions, etc.) from design to deployment and utilize subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability efficiently and effectively. Incorporate programming and data management processes and practices so as to preserve data integrity, recoverability, and supportability. Guide day-to-day maintenance of special education data marts to ensure critical compliance and reporting needs are met. Work collaboratively with DIIT in the development of a special education data warehouse. Design and document data flow diagrams and data models.
