Old Town Alexandria, The Digital Marketing and Technology Manager will support the Society’s marketing and communications functions and dues and non-dues revenue goals through digital and technology outputs and platforms via social media management, paid search and search engine optimization (SEO), lead generation, website administration and optimization, database management, email marketing, audience segmentation and digital and print communications.
This role requires a general expertise in a wide variety of marketing software/platforms, including:
Content management platforms
Customer relationship management platforms (CRM)
Association management software (AMS)
Email marketing tools
Social media platforms
Mobile tracking software
Desired Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of visual design best practices and intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
Someone who loves the creative process and looks for creative ways to visually communicate the mission, vision, and goals of SMPS.
Marketing and communications writing experience a plus.
Experience with email marketing platforms.
Experience with website content management systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Basic understanding of marketing principles and best practices (digital and print).
Basic understanding of social media content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
Understanding of AP style guidelines and a strong eye for editing.
Experience with association management systems (AMS) (MemberMax a plus).
Basic photography and video editing skills a plus.
Strong communication and writing skills
SEO and Google Analytics experience
Segmented list management experience
