Overview

Washington, D.C., National Cathedral School (NCS) seeks a Digital Marketing Manager, whose primary role will be to manage an integrated, multi-channel portfolio – including website, social media, and e-mail – to develop engaging and visual online communications that tell the story of the school and advance the school’s strategic priorities.
A successful candidate will produce work that compellingly conveys NCS’s unique mission and how students, faculty, staff, and alumnae live out the school’s core values. The Digital Marketing Manager will be equally comfortable producing quick-turnaround projects and longer-term, high-impact communications, knowing there will be opportunity throughout the year for both. The Digital Marketing Manager reports to the Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications.  
The Digital Marketing Manager will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team at an exciting time, as the team embarks on developing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.  There will be space to propose new ideas, innovate and get in at the ground-level of impactful, important work that helps NCS achieve its mission. Responsibilities:

Project manage the school’s public-facing and internal website refreshes, with direction from the Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications and the goal of making the site more dynamic and engaging, working with vendor and internal resources 
Coordinate website experience maintenance, working with the communications colleagues and web/data services teams to ensure an updated website
Manage the social media editorial calendar and create content for the school’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube; conduct social media listening
Coordinate regular mass communications, including newsletters and portal information, to students, faculty, staff, and alumnae
Assist the Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications in developing a digital strategy based on metrics, feedback, and innovation, looking regularly for improvement opportunities
Track engagement levels and metrics across all digital channels, identifying trends and areas for improvement
Assist in the creation of digital templates and infrastructure to support communications such as newsletters, calendars, and portals, in conjunction with other communications team members
Serve as primary photographer to capture the life of the school during both planned and ad hoc moments for use in digital and print channels, with the exception of major schoolwide events like Commencement
Shoot and edit short-form videos for social media
Organize and maintain a database of video footage and photography 
Work with and continue to identify freelance videographers and photographers who can assist in the creation of distinctive digital materials, and successfully manage working relationships with them, including by creating and meeting production schedules and budgets 
Coordinate and collaborate with Communications colleagues as to create a team environment that is highly connected, supportive, and engaged.
Support the communications department as needed in fulfilling its mission to provide consistent, high-quality visual and narrative content, compelling storytelling, and clear and consistent information across digital channels, including collaboration with Development, Admissions and other departments as needed 

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field 
Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience 
Experience managing professional social media channels
Experience shooting photos for professional use
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or similar video- and photo-editing software 
Strong interpersonal skills that allow the establishment and development of solid, collaborative working relationships 
Experience and skill managing multiple deadlines and a complex calendar of assignments 
Familiarity with a content management system preferred
Experience in video creation preferred 
Experience in graphic design preferred
