St. Louis, Missouri, Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary In collaboration with colleagues in the Communications Office, Deanâ™s Office, and Program Offices, leads Communications Office efforts for the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s main digital marketing tactics, including website content management, social media, email marketing, paid search and display advertising. The position is responsible for content management for the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s main external-facing website, the Schoolâ™s intranet, and the Island Press website, as well as serving as the primary liaison to the external web development team. This position manages the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s social media channels, including content development, publication, reporting, and optimization, and for the Schoolâ™s e-newsletter and email marketing campaigns, including creating, executing, and managing distribution (including audience list/segment management). Works under the guidance of the Director of Communications and with members of the Communications Office to develop and execute the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s internal and external communications plans. This is a full-time position. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Web Content Management Works with the Director of Communications, the Deanâ™s Office, and program directors to define content strategy for the website and lead its execution. Administrator for online content management systems. Update/manage content for the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s external-facing website, along with the intranet and the Island Press website, with a focus on enhancing and reinforcing brand positioning and maintaining a consistent look, feel, and voice. Manage the procurement of digital assets (images of work, bios, program-related content, event information) from faculty, students, staff, alumni, and visiting faculty. This includes working with the Director of Communications to establish workflows with faculty and staff contacts to ensure a structured system for gathering and uploading new and revised content and images of Student Work onto the Sam Fox School website from across all academic programs. Manage Sam Fox School calendar events, including editing content, updating the Sam Fox School website calendar with text/images, and coordinating updates to the Universityâ™s Happenings calendar, to ensure Sam Fox School events are featured. Ensure compliance with the Universityâ™s accessibility standards for all website content. Coordinate with other members of the Communications Office to arrange photography and video to support content needed for the website and other communications. Serve as a liaison for submitting trouble tickets and feature requests for the Sam Fox School website to IT staff and developers to identify and implement solutions. In collaboration with the Director of Communications, plans and develops new website initiatives, including training sessions for faculty and staff. Measure analytics for Sam Fox School website, and work with the Director of Communications to review and refine strategies for digital communications. Social Media Management Lead the development of organic and boosted content for the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s primary social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube), consistent with brand narrative, tone, voice, messaging, and target audience for each channel. Responsible for day-to-day activities (e.g. updating social media calendar, creating compelling content, photographing events, posting on social media platforms, responding to comments and messages, monitoring social media for news about Sam Fox School faculty, alumni, and students, etc.). Coordinate with colleagues and student workers on content development and gathering. Set up, manage, monitor, and optimize paid social media efforts in coordination with Director of Communications. Increase visibility of the Sam Fox School through social media platforms, supporting recruitment efforts, alumni and development initiatives, and research and creative activity of faculty, students, and alumni. Provide guidance on best practices for faculty, staff, and student content generation partners; this includes developing a School guide to social media best practices. Remain up to date on current social media trends and initiatives, including those being implemented by other schools at the University and at peer institutions. Participate in the Universityâ™s social media working group and find ways to plug the School into wider social media campaigns. Email Marketing Manage the Sam Fox Schoolâ™s e-newsletter, which goes to a list of more than 1,700 contacts and current students. Duties include gathering content, writing/proofreading/formatting, and publishing campaigns. Create additional email campaigns, including email drip campaigns and stand-alone emails promoting events and internal communications to faculty, staff, and students. Monitor analytics for campaigns and provide updates to stakeholders. Manage email marketing contact lists and segmentation. Additional Digital Marketing Manage strategy, execution, and optimization of paid search and display advertising campaigns as well as SEO to achieve marketing goals for the School. Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications Experience in digital marketing, social media management, and/or web content development and management. Professional experience in art, architecture, and design. Exceptional strategic and critical thinking, and creative mindset. Familiarity with best practices regarding accessibility for digital content. Proficiency with digital analytics and reports. Demonstrated experience in creating high-end digital campaigns for higher education. Masterâ™s degree in marketing, English, journalism, communications, or a related field. Exceptional judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential/delicate information and/or challenging issues. Comfortable managing student workers and freelancers. Proficient in web content development and management, including working with external parties/website developers to identify and manage trouble tickets and site updates. Demonstrated experience developing creative and engaging social media campaigns (particularly on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube) in a business/professional setting, targeting a variety of audiences and occasions. Proficient in email marketing, using platforms such as Constant Contact. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. A self-motivator with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Outstanding project management skills. Effective in a demanding professional and academic environment, able to meet multiple deadlines, strong ability to prioritize; a quick learner. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree in related field and three years relevant experience. Grade G10 Salary Range $47,300.00 – $78,200.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
