Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Digital Marketing Specialist is an integral member of Carnegie Mellon’s Marketing team within University Communications and Marketing. This position is responsible for growing Carnegie Mellon’s reputation and brand reach through paid digital campaigns across a variety of platforms, implementing native, display, social media, SEM, Video (OTT) and email advertising tactics. The digital marketing specialist will regularly perform market research and benchmarking tasks to inform strategy recommendations. This is a highly collaborative position, coordinating with teams across the division, including media relations, social media, and creative. This role will help lift and amplify earned media mentions, identify campaign goals and requirements, and leverage paid campaigns in more traditional brand awareness efforts. The successful candidate be a highly organized individual with hands-on experience writing and implementing multi-channel digital marketing plans, defining KPIs and reports showing campaign performance and take-aways. This position will engage in continuous process improvement with an eye on data, manage and communicate trends in advertising consumption and audience engagement with content served through CMU’s earned, owned and paid media efforts. Core responsibilities include: Outline paid digital marketing plans and implement upon approved plans (including DPS, OTT and Cookie-less tactics with first party data) Manage paid placements for optimization Publish approved content in campaigns Develop campaign reports to summarize performance against KPIs Work collaboratively with organic content teams to help lift and amplify reach with paid tactics Brainstorm and create A/B tests when appropriate Perform edits and provide final review of content prior to publishing Stay current on digital marketing trends, including SEO and SEM best practices You must demonstrate: In-depth understanding and application of latest digital marketing best practices including native advertising, SEM, SEO, digital display, and content marketing experience Proficiency in digital marketing analytics required Collaborative and detail focused with an ability to work in cross-functional teams Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals at different experience levels Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within University Communication and Marketing. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 4 years of experience in the digital marketing space required Hands-on experience with DSP platforms, cookie-less targeting tools and OTT video streaming, preferred Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Google Analytics 360 is a plus (GA4 preferred) Requirements: Successful background check Are you interested in this opportunity?
