DESCRIPTION The Director, Digital Marketing oversees all digital marketing platforms for the health system marketing and communications functions. The position is responsible for web site operations, consumer digital experience and establishing digital marketing functionality, which may include the execution of email marketing campaigns and paid digital advertising to ensure success based on business objectives. The individual should possess a solid understanding of web standards and best practices and proven experience with digital marketing platforms. An aptitude for organization, prioritization and communication is essential. This position reports to the Executive Director of Marketing & Brand and will work closely with other members of the Marketing & Communications team including the Associate Director of Marketing, marketing managers, and digital content creators, among others. Key Responsibilities This position will be responsible for the entire ecosystem of marketing and communications digital channels, including the organization’s public-facing website, intranet and Find a Provider, our online physician directory Manage technical staff including web authors and programmers Optimization of online location listings including Google My Business Organic (SEO) and paid search (SEM) Website traffic plan, goals and KPIs Use of digital data analysis to draw key recommendations for website optimization, recommend changes for performance improvement and ensure a positive consumer digital experience Management of policies governing corporate digital properties Develop and maintain digital performance dashboards that embrace data visualization best practices Works with Associate Director of Marketing and others to execute digital marketing campaigns based on stated and endorsed objectives and strategies Ensure consistency with UC San Diego Health brand strategy and standards Establish, propose and manage digital budget in line with industry benchmarks Organizes, plans, and manages time of self and team effectively to complete assignments MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area and five or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Experience and proven success in all aspects of digital communications, including design concepts, various media, applications, strategic planning, etc. Up-to-date knowledge of and expertise in digital marketing tools and techniques Return on investment (ROI) and key performance indicator (KPI) oriented Experience working with content management system, preferably Episerver/Optimizely Strong understanding and experience implementing and utilizing CRM technologies Experience with personalization and lead generation in email marketing and digital advertising Demonstrated experience in leveraging digital channels to drive marketing success and business growth Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas and technologies Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team to build a best-in-class digital marketing function and ensure optimal consumer digital experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree in business management or marketing Healthcare marketing experience Managerial experience in a relevant setting SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
