Learn more about the many benefits of PET bottles here. with existing technologies including chemical recycling Amcor Rigid Packaging Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting & Accounting Ann Arbor, MI Position Overview: This role is part of the Rigid Packaging Business Group (BG) and reports to the Director, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting. The critical responsibilities of this role are as follows: Lead BG global cash flow reporting process by ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with Amcor policies Analyze monthly cash flow forecast submissions and understand significant variances/fluctuations Support processes for establishing, measuring and delivering upon Business Group (BG) cash flow and working capital financial objectives; prepare information and analysis to support proactive management decision making Assist with financial planning and analysis processes including monthly forecasting and actual reporting cycles, annual operating plan, and annual strategic plan Assist with special project activities including working capital initiatives, complex technical accounting matters, business improvement projects, M activities, etc. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Working Capital and Free Cash Flow: Preparation of BG cash flow forecast and consolidation of Business Unit (BU) cash forecasts to support accurate, consistent, and timely reporting Support the preparation of the North America direct and indirect free cash flow (FCF) monthly forecast Review and analyze each monthly BU working capital (WC) and FCF forecast submission Identify, interpret and analyze balance sheet and related cash flow variances to actuals, forecast and operating plan Work with the BUs to understand, quantify and document the impact of business changes on WC and FCF Track unusual items/one-offs by BU that favorably or unfavorably impact WC and FCF Issue monthly working capital and free cash flow reports for ARP and North America Enhance reporting and system capabilities to continuously improve the monthly closing, consolidation and reporting cycle for FCF and WC initiatives Coordinate with BG Finance, BG CFO, BU Finance and other stakeholders to meet cash flow and working capital information needs Financial Planning and Reporting: Assist with planning and execution of the BG requirements relating to the annual budget and strategic plan processes as well as monthly forecast Assist with quarterly reporting processes to support Amcor external reporting Technical Accounting: Lead global balance sheet review process to ensure compliance with US GAAP Assist with month-end journal entries to ensure proper consolidation at the BG level Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of ARP BG, Amcor, US GAAP and applicable local statutory/regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Education: Minimum undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance Professional accreditation preferred (CPA, CA or similar) Experience: 2 to 3 years of accounting and reporting experience; public accounting firm experience strongly preferred Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting; ability to effectively communicate complex matters to non-technical audience Understands financial statement relationships between balance sheet, income and cash flow statements Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure Strong Microsoft office skills (especially MS Excel) required.
