Java Developer Summary: This position supports, codes, tests and debugs applications, writes design specifications based on customers’ business needs and participates in implementing new applications. Demonstrates proficiency in a platform and discipline, and at least one programming language. Possesses an excellent working knowledge of applicable hardware and operating systems. Position Responsibilities: Provides technical support for applications computing technologies within areas of expertise by maintaining and enhancing existing business applications and assisting in planning for and implementing new ones. Develops, documents and executes unit test cases. Identifies and resolves technical problems and issues with assigned applications and work processes. Escalates problems beyond level of expertise to manager, more experienced technical staff or vendor representatives. Researches new technologies, within areas of expertise, for possible implementation; makes recommendations based on findings. Performs duties within standardized practices, where applicable. Delivers quality and timely results. Maintains a good application domain knowledge and assumes accountability to fulfill assigned areas of responsibility. Willing to share acquired knowledge with peers (internal or external to the assigned team) Complies with and supports all corporate, department and team policies and procedures. Keeps manager, project teams and business customers informed of activities and problems within assigned areas of responsibility; refers matters beyond limits of authority to manager for direction. Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related discipline, or the equivalent in related work experience. 2 years of experience in a specified technical discipline.
