Master Software Engineer, Tech Lead Our US Card teams are growing in Richmond and we are looking for a Master Software Engineer, Tech Lead for our agile teams to deliver working software for “Case Management” in US Card in support of the product development for the new future state platform. Team members will be responsible for full stack development (front-end web client, Back End services and APIs) in all phases of the system development life cycle (story refinement, analysis, design, develop, test and deploy) utilizing agile delivery methodology, adherence to existing process guidelines and production support of implemented capabilities. These teams utilize an exciting tech stack including AWS, Java, DevOps, Docker, micro services, Node.js, Angular, Spring, Python, and more. Come join us on our exciting journey In this role, you will: Own technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems Work with Product Owners to understand the business problems and design solutions Collaborate with other platforms tech leads to ensure integrated end-to-end design and delivery Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of system and determine priority of needs Proactively monitor applications and services Perform complex engineering activities for performance tuning and monitoring Identify gaps and taking actions to completion Provide functional, technical, and process leadership Lead engineers by example Present at communities of practices and conferences Be a technology evangelist and thought leader Break down problems in production environment to analyze, understand and resolve Understand how evolving technology affects domain; stays current and leads team through new technologies Be responsible for key system design and integration decisions; and for communicating decisions to individuals implementing the system Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree At least 7 years of Java development experience At least 5 years of experience developing RESTful APIs using Spring or Jersey At least 3 years of experience with AWS At least 3 years of experience in one of the following: RDBMS, SQL, No-SQL, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Dynamo DB Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree 8 years of Java development experience 6 years of experience developing RESTful APIs using Spring or Jersey 5 years of experience with build and CI/CD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus or Sonar 5 years of experience in Unix Shell Scripting 4 years of experience with AWS 3 years of experience with Open-Source or public GitHub projects 3 years of experience coaching and mentoring junior team members Formal certification in Java or AWS At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
