USA – MA – Cambridge, Reporting to the Director of Marketing and in partnership with the marketing and communications team, the Senior Digital Marketing Lead will serve an important role in the leading the implementation of marketing strategies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Supporting one of the world’s most recognizable brands and advancing a mission to create and amplify opportunities to transform education for all, the Senior Digital Marketing Lead will help to drive engagement for HGSE across multiple domains, including enrollment and community outreach. The Senior Digital Marketing Lead will play a visible role in the collaborative development and execution of a strategic, integrated, comprehensive, multi-channel marketing plan that promotes HGSE to key stakeholder audiences, including prospective students, education practitioners, and donors. A successful candidate, in addition to a solid marketing and communications background, will possess an orientation toward a highly collaborative work environment, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a demonstrated track record of driving results with clear evidence of efforts to outcomes. General Marketing: Develop a deep understanding of the HGSE mission, vision, and values to represent the organization and school with integrity and contribute to a compelling story about our purpose, and identity Develop high-level knowledge of groups and initiatives that fall within the HGSE brand to help guide their individual marketing efforts through partnerships with their marketing/communications leads Serve as liaison for Marketing team, responding to and triaging inquiries/requests from HGSE groups and initiatives, as appropriate Provide feedback on and serve as key thought partner for creative projects, including graphic design, videos, and branding Perform other duties as assigned Recruitment and Degree Program Marketing: Manage key marketing materials for the school, including overseeing updating brochures, liaising with admissions on nurturing emails, and assisting with approving swag Project manage and liaise with our digital advertising agency on tasks including ad placement, landing pages, reporting, copy and design, audience targeting, and campaign optimization Assist with overseeing marketing videos and photography, including helping coordinate shoots, conceptualizing videos, and identifying key photography needs Help strategize on overall marketing and advertising tactics to recruit a strong and diverse pool of applicants to HGSE Email Marketing: Build school-wide newsletters and lead nurturing emails, including writing copy, creating, segmenting, and deploying emails Report on and analyze email campaign results and audiences, providing recommendations to improve performance Keep current with email marketing trends, providing creative suggestions to enhance the email experience and targeting strategies Events Marketing: Coordinate and execute on event promotion dissemination across HGSE, the university, and with external partners, including posting across event platforms, coordinating postering, and sharing email and social content Develop promotional copy for events, including event descriptions, taglines, emails, and social media Report on event attendance and performance of event promotions, providing recommendations on improvements HGSE is a diverse community of learners, teachers, and employees who are passionate about changing the world through education and striving for maximum impact in the field of education. Demonstrated experience developing and conveying marketing messages that capture fundamental principles and the value proposition of a given program or product offering. Strong skills in digital marketing and campaign-building across web, email, social media, and other platforms. Strong technical proficiency with email and marketing technology, and a disposition toward creating strong systems and structures to maximize productivity and efficiency. Experience with email service providers (Marketing Cloud, etc.), digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, etc.), Canva, and/or Salesforce is a plus. Experience and interest in analytics and learning to improve communications and outcomes. Leadership experience in providing direction, briefs, and feedback to other marketing professionals and skillfully managing iterative processes for review, feedback, incorporation, and approval for marketing assets. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). A collaborative mindset with a willingness to effectively work with multiple groups within HGSE. Strong relationship managing skills. Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Discernment and professional judgment. Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a deadline-driven environment.
