VMware’s Cloud Transition team within the Customer Experience and Success organization has a bold mission – to transition our on-premises customers to cloud, and to drive a consistent VMware-wide go-to-market strategy, customer journey, and operational framework to accelerate SaaS adoption and consumption. Job Role and Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced product marketer to drive the transition and the consumption of our services as customers navigate their journey to the cloud. Because this is a company-wide effort, the right person needs to become familiar with our product portfolio and act as an interface between the team and cross-functional teams to develop and go-to-market with offers that would help drive subscription and SaaS adoption and consumption. This role is a highly impactful role, informing VMware’s strategy on driving subscription/SaaS and engagement with a variety of customer personas. The person must be savvy of technology industry dynamics and trends, develop a deep understanding of our business, be a constant collaborator with cross-functional teams, and a creative producer of offers and content. Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To: Offer creation. Analyze our install base and create proposals for how to best transition the install base to subscription and SaaS, and how to best drive post-sale consumption and growth. Customer segmentation. Determine customer buying needs and characteristics by customer segment. Customer profiling and buyer persona. Customer journey. Understand and map out the customer journey and identify areas where we can improve the customer experience, drive consumption and cross-sell/upsell. Content development and thought leadership. Shape the core framework for messaging, positioning and GTM for the consumption of our VMware Cloud products, socialize across stakeholders, and apply to a core set of materials. Create both internal- and external-facing content (blogs, slides, briefs, papers, multimedia, reference architectures, etc.) aligned to campaigns, customer needs, and competitive threats. Enablement. Ready our field, partners and customer success teams to carry the offer to market and to drive consumption. Help teams deliver the message with consistency and confidence through ongoing engagements and assets. Actively support teams in customer conversations as needed and guide them through the process. Required Skills & Experience: 5 years of experience in Information Technology, Cloud products/services, and SaaS offerings within B2B space 3 years of relevant work experience in Product Marketing Must be well-versed in GTM strategy and product marketing through digital transformation (e.g. licensed-based to SaaS) Ability to create customer-facing presentation content independently, author detailed market research documents, and conduct offer proposals Ability to analyze and synthesize large volume of data and deal with complex uncertain scenarios and incomplete information Ability to communicate at an executive level with compelling, clear, logical and data driven arguments Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, comfortable delivering presentations to large audiences on an international scale. Intellectual curiosity & willingness to take ownership of deliverables. The person must have a strong work ethic, expressing dedication to the business and pursuit of the agreed-to business agendas. BSCS degree or equivalent, MBA preferred.
