This role is responsible for the Walt Disney Attractions Technology and technical ownership of Disney Cruise Parks Data Platform.

Provide open-Source component evaluation and roadmap definition and oversight, to justify and direct key technology decisions. Coordinate with Solution and Cloud Engineering, and Reference Architecture for review and approvals
Manage and execute against financial, project and delivery commitments for approximately $15m budget- including Parks Data Platform development, Cloud Migration and Platform Sustainment
Provide technical leadership of:

Parks Data Platform (PDP) ecosystem delivery including component integration and configuration engineering, monitoring, security, automation and deployment
Cloud Migration Initiative, migration and decommissioning from legacy platforms

Define the strategic technical direction of our Parks Data Platform
Drive the Cloud migration program, including definition and delivery of milestone roadmaps with executive steering committee oversight and approvals
Consolidate platform team’s key roles and processes for Governance (Meta-Data), Support and Release Management
Define appropriate Governance, Support and Release success metrics to measure continuous improvement targets. Manage a quarterly review and communications, updating targets as key outcomes are achieved.
Mentor, teach and train the team.
Drive clarity and alignment by partnering with peer technology organizations
Deliver reference Architecture standards definition and delivery for Information Advantage

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience with building and leading mediums sized teams of engineers and architects (10-15 FTE) including managing resource and financial planning, and vendor management
Previous experience with Data platform analytic technologies, including the following:

Expert knowledge of Cloud deployment technologies, Object Store and Hadoop distributed ecosystem for building production- highly scalable and resilient systems/services
Experience designing and developing data flow pipelines for high latency/batch, low latency- messaging, streaming or near-real time data delivery
Build in security, data quality and performance/scalability as appropriate to the dataset
Cloud, private cloud and on premise configurations, appropriate use of each
Open source Big Data and AI/ML architecture and integration patterns

Present effectively to all levels and businesses. You will be a presenter at quarterly town halls and speak for the achievements of the organization, accomplishments and future vision and the overall progress. Able to present complicated technology concepts in a simple manner, and present key technology challenges or overviews with senior technology leadership (C Level Execs)
Evaluates and anticipates risks and solutions before taking action, clearly articulating options and their impacts/consequences. Course correction, expecting failure and ability to respond efficiently
Facilitates various forums that promote collaboration and knowledge sharing, highly collaborative and resilient/perseverant

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with automation and continuous improvement tools, frameworks and mindset.
Ability to perceive and synthesize patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, and business models.
Familiarity with networking infrastructure and system design of load balancers, firewalls, and VPN in virtual machines and containerized applications.
Knowledge of rules processing- data type casting, formatting, transformation and enrichment.
